Do you long for deeper, more meaningful connection?

Since life is increasingly filled with busy obligations and distractions, less and less time is devoted to meaningful pursuits. Although we have more communication channels than ever — from smart phones to social media — few of these interactions feel deeply fulfilling. 

Our Goal

Our goal in Creating Connection is to share authentic conversation, to experience meaningful activities, and to form inclusive community together. You’re invited to join us Friday evening through Sunday afternoon for a weekend of Creating Connection in a peaceful space at a scenic woodland retreat.

Activities at the Retreat

The retreat will include workshops and presentations focusing on the theme “Experience Community”. You will have the option to experience holistic mind-body practices, including yoga, mindfulness meditation, drum circles, labyrinth walks, art, nature hikes, and meaningful conversation. Additional activities will provide a safe setting for sharing thoughts and feelings, allowing you to explore yourself while creating meaningful connection with others.

Who Comes to the Retreat

All are welcome regardless of background.  Participants include individuals from diverse religious traditions, many who consider themselves “spiritual but not religious,” as well as those who identify as agnostic or atheist. We are LGBTQ+ affirming.

What is Creating Connection?

Creating Connection is a network of more than twenty welcoming and inclusive communities across Ontario committed to in sharing authentic conversation, promoting meaningful activities, and fostering holistic wellness practices, including: coffee & conversation, adult colouring, drumming circles, mindfulness meditation, yoga, lifelong learning & lectures, and knitting circles.

Setting

​Set on a natural expansive 135 acre property in the county of Brant, ON, Circle Square Ranch is a home away from home, with such beautiful features as barns, horses, fields and rolling hills. The retreat centre is a well established facility with several buildings including a large dining hall, lodge, cabins, meeting areas and more.  Although set in a quiet, serene, natural environment, the retreat center is conveniently located 2 1/4 hours southwest of Toronto and 1 hour southeast of Kitchener/Waterloo.

Lodging

Accommodation at the retreat will be in dormitory rooms in a heated facility. Each bedroom sleeps up to six persons with its own fully private bathroom and shower. You can choose a gender-specific or gender-neutral room for your stay. There are also shared bathrooms in the common areas of the same lodge. Accessible rooms and bathrooms are available. 

Register

The individual registration cost includes housing and meals from Friday evening until Sunday afternoon with full access to the retreat programming.
